Australis gains Provisional Membership in the GUM
Membership in the Grand Unified Micronational has a history of being hard to attain, to the point where some micronationalists are calling it an "elitist organisation", reserved only for the oldest and most well developed nations. However, Australis, at just six months old, was able to gain membership in the organisation. This is in part due to the incredible level of development that has occurred within those short six months. The Grand Duke of Australis released the following statement following Australis being accepted:
"I am highly pleased by the acceptance of Australis into the Grand Unified Micronational. It is truly an honour to be able to become a part of this organisation, one of the oldest of its kind still operating today. I'd like to thank everybody who has supported our great nation over the last six months. Without all of the support we have received, Australis would not be where it is today." - Daniel I, Grand Duke of Australis
Australis has also been a member of the rival Cupertino Alliance, an organisation that recently underwent a massive resurgence in January 2020, since July 2020, with the Grand Duke gaining the position of Deputy Minister for Asian and Oceanian Affairs recently.
